10 Years of Easton Park

When Easton Park started back in 2016, the community was little more than some over-ranched fields and a dream. Brookfield Residential had more than 60 years of experience building homes and communities throughout North America, but this was our first master-planned community in Texas, and we were determined to make it a good one. Now, 10 years later, we’ve made remarkable progress and brought together some amazing neighbors. Here are a few of the highlights.

Easton By the Numbers

  • Total acres developed: 1,500 acres
  • Total neighborhoods: 11
  • Total homes developed: 2,864
  • Residents: ~6,187

We started with parks.

Knowing how much Austinites love parks and trails, the idea behind Easton Park was that each of the neighborhood sections would be named for a different famous park. Bryant Park was where we broke ground, with a signature park offering a Pavillion, Great Lawn, playscapes, the bright red Easton Arch, and the famous Hammock Garden.

Easton By the Numbers (to date)

  • Green Space: ~45 acres
  • Miles of trail: ~13 miles
  • Dormant Volcanos: 1

Have you seen our Trolley?

Named for the famous San Francisco hilltop neighborhood with a nod to the nearby Pilot’s Knob geological feature, Knob Hill followed shortly after in August of 2016. The Easton Park Trolley was added to Knob Hill Park in spring of 2018, created from a retired Austin Dillo trolley with slides and seats.

A cool school.

We always knew that Easton Park would be getting a school in the neighborhood, and in August of 2018, Newton Collins Elementary opened its doors to students. Named for the freedman who built the first Black schools in the area, highly-rated Newton Collins is part of Del Valle ISD.

A more perfect Union.

In 2019, our first big amenity, The Union, opened. Tucked in Union Park, this 14,340 sq. ft. state-of-the-art amenity center is home to our community’s resort-style pool and club-style fitness facility. Neighbors gather here for Music in the Park concerts, Food Truck Fridays, and other Easton Park events.

Getting through the pandemic together.

During the COVID shutdown that started in 2020, Easton Park neighbors took care of each other. Neighbors in Knob Hill put on streetwide dance parties and outdoor garage concerts. People took to Facebook groups to offer to pick up groceries for each other and help with supplies. While none of it was easy, our Easton Park neighbors helped each other through it.

Snow much fun.

In January of 2021, Austin got around 6 inches of snow, and Easton Park neighbors took to Knob Hill for sledding. Someone even built an igloo next to the Easton Park Trolley.
