AUS expansion bringing big perks for Easton Park residents

With AUS located less than 10 miles from Easton Park, flying is already a breeze for our residents. It’s about to get even easier.

It’s a short hop to fly when you live at Easton Park, located less than 10 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).

Jetting off for work or vacation is about to get even easier, with AUS set to achieve major-hub status over the next few years, thanks to a Texas-size expansion for one of the nation’s fastest-growing airports.

With new funding from Austin’s largest-ever bond issue – no taxpayer funding will be used – the ambitious Journey With AUS program is adding new passenger and airline facilities and key infrastructure upgrades over the next few years.

It’s also adding amenities to make flying out of AUS more convenient and – dare we say – even more fun, with new dining, shopping and art installations.

The bottom line: whether you go coach or premium, you’ll soon enjoy a first-class experience at AUS.

More room coming soon

Expect to see big changes soon, with several major projects planned to be completed in 2026:

  • Atrium Infill is adding about 12,000 square feet of floor space to the Departures Hall at the Barbara Jordan Terminal, for roomier bag check and security areas.
  • West Gate Expansion is bringing more seating, dining and retail. It’s also adding private spaces for nursing and pumping, a playscape, pet relief area and more restrooms.
  • Concourse M is adding six temporary gates to serve passengers while the Barbara Jordan Terminal is being expanded.
  • An expansion for the International Arrivals area is already complete, allowing it to accommodate multiple international flights arriving simultaneously. Adios, super long passport lines!

Just a few years away

Other major additions to AUS are projected to be complete in the early 2030s.

Concourse B, a new 26-gate midfield concourse, will be a centerpiece of the expansion, with 18 gates for Southwest Airlines. United Airlines will have five gates, with three more gates available for domestic common use.

A new Arrivals and Departures (A & D) Hall will have expanded ticketing and check-in areas, a centralized TSA checkpoint and expanded baggage claim.

The A & D Hall will have a redesigned curb experience to reduce congestion and improve vehicle flow, so even if you’re just picking up friends or family, navigating AUS will be a lot easier.

More places to go

The AUS flight map is already expanding from coast to coast, with new and increased service to 14 cities added in the first half of 2026.

Porter Airlines has new nonstop service to Toronto, and Cayman Airways has a new nonstop to Grand Cayman. Copa Airlines is increasing service to Panama City for expanded access to Central and South America.

Whether you want to be close to the airport for business travel or leisurely vacations, you can find the perfect new home at Easton Park. It won’t be long before you discover that easy flying is just one of many perks of living here.
