Easton Park begins a new tradition of giving back with EP Music & Co.

Vol. 01 of EP Music & Co. brought award-winning duo Texas High Road to Easton Park for a live concert, and Del Valle’s Ojeda Middle School Honors Band warmed hearts as the opening act. Money raised will help relaunch Ojeda’s mariachi band.
The first volume of EP Music & Co. is in the books, and the impact on young musicians in the South Austin area around Easton Park is reverberating louder than Stevie Ray Vaughan’s guitar.
A partnership between Easton Park and the Texas Music Project, EP Music & Co. provided a free concert for music lovers from across Austin, and supported student musicians in the Del Valle Independent School District.
“The goal was to embrace everyone who came with a warm hug,” says Paul Cardenas, director of community engagement for Easton Park.
“For me, the best community life work starts with place and purpose. If it could happen anywhere, we probably haven’t pushed it far enough yet,” Cardenas said. “EP Music & Co. needed to feel unmistakably Easton Park, give students and artists a real reason to be there, and leave something behind after the music stopped. Vol. 01 did exactly that.”

The event unfolded in Easton Park on the evening of September 19, drawing more than 400 music fans to the outdoor amphitheater at Skyline Park.
The award-winning Ojeda Middle School Honors Band, nearly 40 members strong, was the opening act. In 2025, the band won the UIL Band Sweepstakes Award, earning the highest ratings possible for all of their performances.
The featured act was Texas High Road, named the New Vocal Duo of the Year in the 2026 Texas Regional Radio & Music Awards.

Glow chairs, food trucks, and student-made desserts from Del Valle High School’s Cardinal Café added to the festive atmosphere, with Austin’s skyline twinkling in the background. The first 100 guests took home custom EP Music & Co. bandanas, with their names chainstitched on at the park, and everyone got a guitar pick with the event logo.
Approximately $1,200 was raised in donations, a strong starting point for the first year of this new Easton Park tradition. The funds will help support the relaunch of the Ojeda Middle School Mariachi Band, helping put instruments, instruction, and another music opportunity back in reach for Del Valle students.
