  • The Roots & Wings Festival is an event series led by the community in neighborhoods all over Austin. It's dedicated to celebrating nature in our neighborhoods and embracing the idea that we are all connected to each other and our local ecosystem.
  • While you're here, create beautiful eco-friendly crafts to cherish and take home, and embrace the opportunity to engage in interactive workshops on composting, sustainable gardening, and more.

  • The Austin Wildlife Rescue will bring their educational Texas tortoise, Tortellini, as well as information on what to do when you find injured wildlife.
  • The Beevo Beekeeping Society will offer face painting alongside bee-related crafts.
  • Explore Austin will offer information on their incredible mentoring program and the chance to win swag at their spin wheel.
  • Tank Doc will bring t-shirts and educational handouts on both ecosystem ponds/mini-water gardens and healthy freshwater aquariums. They will offer easy aquarium plants for sale and allow people to sign up for consulting sessions on getting started with their first planted tank or pond.
  • The Vortex theater will quiz you on the environment to win fun prizes.
  • The Easton Park Recycling and Sustainability Club will host a waste and recycling sorting game where you can learn how to get creative with recyclable materials and explore recycling or upcycling opportunities in Austin.
  • The Austin chapter of the Native Plant Society will teach you all about the activities of the Native Plant Society of Texas and their local chapter.
  • Austin Youth River Watch will share information about their program, t-shirts, and stickers.

Eastcation Day 3: Easton Bark Derby

Community spirit runs fast at Easton Park, sometimes on four legs.

The Easton Bark Derby brings together residents and their pups for an energetic, joy-filled day of racing and celebration. With multiple size divisions and a championship round for the fastest times, the event blends playful competition with neighborhood pride. Local pup partners will also be on-site, adding even more excitement, resources, and treats for our four-legged residents.

It’s not just a dog race. It’s a signature tradition that reflects the vibrant, connected culture of Easton Park, where even the pets are part of the story.

Eastcation Day 2: Park n’ Play

At Easton Park, parks aren't just green spaces. It’s where life happens.

Park n’ Play transforms Skyline Park into a springtime playground filled with movement, laughter, and sunshine. Families can fly kites across the open lawn, cool off at Splash Eddy, enjoy yard games and interactive pop-up activities, grab a bite from the on-site food truck, or relax picnic-style while soaking in the energy of the day. Every corner of the park becomes an invitation to play.
