Meet the Liscanos
The very first time Melissa and Miguel Liscano came to see Easton Park, they put a down payment on a new home. “We’re thoughtful in decisions, but when we know, we know,” Melissa says. “The house was already done — someone else had built it and didn’t end up moving to Texas from California. So when they showed it to us, we loved it, and we gave our payment. It was crazy!”

The Liscanos hadn’t planned to move to Southeast Austin, but when friends started building a home in Easton Park, they realized the neighborhood had everything they wanted for their growing family. “We moved to Easton Park because it’s so family friendly! ” Melissa says. “Our daughter was one when we moved in, and we had our son after we moved. The parks, the community, the trails, the space to spread out. We love the amazing playgrounds! We spend so much time there. Our kids love to play, and it’s a nice way to meet other parents and socialize. Kieke Park has a nice place for parents to sit, plus lots of sidewalks for chalk art, fun swings, and a nice trail nearby.”
Flex space for the win
After living in Easton Park for several years, the Liscanos have found their home (in the Lander floor plan from Brookfield Residential) has continued to fit their needs. They especially appreciate the garage studio apartment. “It’s been a cool flex space for us — we’ve used it for all kinds of things,” Melissa says. “Miguel uses it as an office, and we’ve had neighbors’ out-of-town family stay there. It’s a fun place for our daughter to host play dates — since it’s separate from the main house, it feels like a special getaway. And when I host wine nights with friends, Miguel usually heads up to the studio for a little peace and quiet. It’s been a really nice bonus space for all of us.”
The best neighbors in Austin
The Liscano’s favorite thing about Easton Park might be the wonderful people who call it home. “We have the most amazing neighbors ever,” Melissa says. “There are amazing people in Easton Park who are ready to be there for you! It’s quiet and safe, but also has so much life. The coffee truck Cenizo is a great spot to gather on the weekends.”
